making a jewelry box with a framed panel top, the top is a bit delicate with 3/8" thick framed sides...too narrow for the 1/2" brass hinges I have.
I was thinking of running brass rod in from the side of the box bottom into the framed side of the lid, thinking that I would need a long tongue along the length of the framed side and a complimentary notch along the length of the box bottom back....does this sound like I have the right idea?
any examples or pics would be helpful if anyone has done this before.
