As promised on an earlier thread here are the bowls that I have turned for my Family and Loml for Christmas gifts .
The first three are from blanks given to me by fellow SMCer Jim Barter. I told him I would try to do them proud, hope I did. Thanks again, Jim.There are 2 Maple and 1 Manitoba maple ( Boxelder ).
The next 3 are Cherry . One has knots and one has worm holes.
The last one is. an Ash platter.
Any comments welcome, (as if I had to ask. )
Hopping everyone has a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Fred.

Great looking bowls-- I think Jim would be happy with what you did!

All of these are atractive, but my favorite is the ash. I like the gentle curve on the inside, and the stripes in the wood. A photo showing the profile of these bowls would be an asset.

Fred -

I think you did the wood proud. Everyone will be pleased with their presents I really like the ash platter. The smooth, straight grain and gentle edges really make it attractive.

Nice work Fred. Next time use an old sheet over the wood table so it doesn't distract from the beauty of your pieces. Wish mine could turn out like yours....better at photography than turning right now.....been doing that longer.
