Need just a little help here. I have found backgrounds but they are all around 6' x 6'. Don't really need one that big, guessing that 2 feet square would work, but interested in size that folks here are using. Is there a place where you can get smaller ones? Thanks for the help.

Steve - I use the 31" x 43" size of #39. Works well within my photo tent but would be easy to cut with scissors if needed.

I just got the same one that Steve mentioned. I did have to cut mine to fit my photo cube, and it couldn't have been easier.

I have the same one - on Steve's recommendation. Fortunately, I ordered it, and knew the dimensions, prior to building my tent.

So how do you attach them to your photo cube?

I just got mine delivered last week and haven't had a chance to use it.

I've gone high tech... Masking tape in the corners. I intend to use velco at some point as my cube already has that capability, but the tape is working for now.

Thanks everyone, looks like I make an order to Steve's supplier. That did not take long at all. Appreciate all the help, Sawmill Creek is the information store.

Steve,

Calumet Camera also has the backgrounds. They go on sale for around 25.00 now and again. I have a store locally and got lucky on a sale day.

Ken,

Here are a couple of pics of how I adjust the background. I use some pvc and shower curtain holders. I have since switched to using smaller spring clips from the office supply store to hold the background. This works well to adjust the horizon line and fade.

Could you guys show us a photo of your "photo cube" set up?

Anthony, there are several threads with pics of photo tents, and tips on construction of them on SMC. If you do an advanced Google search, you should get a bunch of hits. Most folks use the Bill Huber plans (http://www.pbase.com/wlhuber/light_box_light_tent)

Here are a couple of pics of my tent, though I have ceased using the worklights, and have started using just the overhead light and a much slower shutter speed for a long exposure. I am getting better pics, but still need to work on more detail.

Joe Aliperti gets some fantastic pics of his pens using his flourescent shop lights and timed exposures.
