I am going to replace my old 100grit green grinding wheel with a new one.
What should I get?

Terry:rolleyes:

This is my next one. I know one guy who has one, and nothing but great things to say. You can pretty much forget about having to dress again is my understanding.

That wheel is for grinding carbide tools it will load up on steel not a good wheel for what you want.

If it were me, I would go for a 3x Norton blue 120 grit wheel. And I would get the steel bushing from McMaster Carr for the hole in the center. A great combination for sure!

The Norton 3X 80 grit or the 3X 46 grit are the two best reasonably priced wheels I'm aware of.

Ditto the 3x 80 grit wheel. For me, the difference in the burr is outweighed by the fact that 100 grit wheels (and higher) load up QUICK! I use a blue Henry Taylor slipstone for quickly honing a burr on or off a tool, which yields a much finer edge than a 120 grit wheel does.
