For quite a while I have been thinking about replacing my drill press with a combination Milling/Drilling machine and finally bit the bullet. I have completed assembling the new machine which came in a week ago. This machine is not anywhere the quality of the Swedish made drill press it will replace, but I feel its accuracy will be more than adequate for my needs. I now will have the capability to do some light machining of metal and plastics as well as have a very accurate drill press for woodworking or any other job.

I've been considering buying a similar machine to make some infill planes. I've been looking at the Grizzly mill/drill's at around $1000.

I note you bought Enco.... Did you consider the Grizzly's in your purchase-ing decision process?

How much does the Enco machine weigh and do you think that's a good indicator of quality?
