It's interesting how some furniture designs are timeless (mainly tables and chairs) and others became obsolete - for example: pie safes, dry sinks,"entertainment centers" designed for TVs that were narrow and deep, computer desks with shelves for floppy disks and typewriter desks (as obsolete as typewriters).
