Peter, that faceted pen is really neat! Beautiful color, and very different.

Not sure about the other one!;) Talk about different! What is the pen blank? Looks like some type of beads in a matrix????

Peter,

Now those pens have some real WOW factor! That is beautiful work. I like the desk set with the golf club!

John,
Red Mallee is the wood, not the place name.

Please accept my brevity, the recipient plays golf, his Dads birth year is on the coin the coins ceased dating in 1966 when decimal currency struck with that awful blow and discontinued the Kangaroo on the face is uniquely aussie.. The hex pen is from an unknown to me now (spalted Sth American timber) what was everyday memory has lapsed into occassional name recall of timbers the base burl is Red Mallee Burl is for use by the receiver. The second pen is made up of individual wooden beads already decorated, because they vary in exact size and small changes in decorations I aligned each one individually in a chuck and faced at right angles each one drilling then 7mm by holding the beads using a metal shaft from the tail stock then gripping in the small chuck. The bead pen is unique for a lady. The whole thing a result of a genuine cry for help in the US from a distraught man seeking help, I phoned immediately offering my humble gift as a token of my genuine concern for a life threatened situation in the US by this family. Us wood workers are an extended family of real caring folks.
Forgive me for talking about it but I had left so much unsaid.

Regards Peter.

Peter, you are a good man. I love trying to help when help is needed. It's the little things that can go a long way and be greatly appreciated.

Beautiful, thoughtful, amazing. Both the pens and the man.
