Here's a recently finished walnut bowl. It's a combination closed top/natural edge bowl. It measures 6 1/2" diameter and 4" tall and is finished with Antique Oil. I left the walls thick to keep the bark on. The background of the picture is a little busy, someday I'll get a photo tent made.

Cool. Reminds me of a curling stone!

Really a nice contrast with the bark and deep color of the walnut!! Rustic and raw!! Good job on the turning, too.

Great job on turning this one! It is a bit too rustic for my tastes, but it has a uniqueness to it........don't see many like it.
You did a good job on the finish as well. Sometimes nature gives us an unusual canvas to paint our picture on, and you did very well!

That's pretty cool... A little out of the norm which is nice. I love the thickness of the bark edge.

Interesting bowl Rob! Pretty wood and you did manage to keep all the bark intact.
When it comes to rustic - its up to the customer to decide what works and what doesn't! This works well as is - but I believe I would have turned it just a little thinner.
