I made eight of these in the past couple of weeks. They will all be handed out on Christmas eve and Christmas day. Thanks to Donnie Rains for the curly maple. The walnut is from the front yard.

Jim - I'm sure the receipients will love them. I really like the grain in the walnut one in the first picture. I'm partial to walnut though. The maple is very pretty as well. What type of finish did you use?

Betsy the finish is shellac and Lou the DT's were done with my Leigh jig. Someday I keep telling myself I'm going to purchase the needed tools and try some hand cut. I did however use my new LV hand plane on several of the boxes and really enjoyed it.

Jim, they turned out great. Speaking from experience, they make nice gifts.
