Since I got my toy/hope chest done, I decided to do some shop cleaning and organizing.. this lead to me building an outfeed table and the cutoff organizer from the most recent Wood magazine..

Here are some pics of the outfeed table, the shop and the cart w/one coat of wet poly (still drying)...

Looks like a weekend well spent! Jim. I could use both an outfeed table and cut off storage. Good ideas!

Jim cool looking saw and outfeed table ya got there. Also like the idea of the cut off storage. But I gotta ask, as I did the same thing and found that I didn't really need it. That is an aluminum mitre track extension right?

There really shouldn't be any lateral pressure on any jig in that area of the table. I'm going to remove it from my table as I think I have better use for it some where else.

Just my humble 2cnt worth.

Jim,

The aluminum miter track happened because the dado's I was cutting on that side got Too wide... happend to have that track that I wasn't using and it solved my problem ... :D

Jim that was my point exactly. I'm not to sure it's needed at all. By the time that miter has gotten to that point on the table its well past the blade.

The only time it would be useful, that I can see, is when or if your are using a panel cutter with the square end close to the blade and the long part of the panel towards you. Then that's when you need it.

I may have to add mine back when I get ready to cut long panels.

Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Jim

Gotcha, now I understand what you were trying to say...

I put it in there specifically for my crosscut sled / panel cutter. I wasn't using it (aluminum miter slot) previously so it wasn't taking away from anything.

Happy holidays!
