Nothing really came up in my search - has anyone tried engraving the heat treated drinkware (from Libbey or another mfg)? Any differences between this type of glass and regular old non treated glass?

I haven't had any problems engraving the Libby 1639 H.T. mixing glasses. I'm using the same settings as my other glassware.

awesome, thanks so much. By the way, who are you buying Libbey from?

Right now a local distributor.....but he just informed me "he won't be carrying them anymore", apparently his other customers stop buying them.

Anyone had any problems with tempered/heat treated glassware after etching as far as shattering in a commercial dishwasher? (runs much hotter than your standard household machine) Any idea of how it would stand up Dan?

I haven't had any issues with it, but then again I haven't run any thorough tests for it, either...

I'll have to pick one up someplace and try it (a glass not a washer).. We run our house dishwasher at 140F which is about 50 degrees less than a commercial machine, but then again, the commercial machine will wash a load in 90 seconds.. In the same light, I've been testing some colour fills. I had a gold RubnBuff clone from Michaels, that lasted about 24 wash cycles before it was pretty well all gone. I have just started a test with the real RubnBuff Gold, after three washings, there is no difference. If three wash cycles that lasts about 45 min. ea, using 140deg water has no effect, this stuff should last for years on anything outdoors..
