Gee Steve,

I would classify your work as more than an experiment! I think that it looks like you are a pro at this........really great work!

That embellishment is just really, really fine.............did I mention that this is really fine?;):D

Thanks for that Roger. I think pyro could be an useful addition to turning although I don`t think it would be to everyones taste :)

Pyro stuff hasn't impressed me all that much until I looked at these. I am both impressed and attracted to what you have done. Very tastefully done on all! Great job!

Great work, Steve. You've done a nice job with all of these... Quite the diversity of patterns, and all seem to be very well executed. Absolutely lovely!

What pyrography set up are you using? I'd love to have a go at this type of embellishment some time.

Well, I WASN'T interested in a pyro pen, but now I am. Nice work. Where did you get you pen and those designs? Very nicely done.

I've had an interest in burning after viewing the work of Molly Winton. Your turning work is impressive and skillful execution of pyro-designs takes the art to another level; especially of timbers lacking natural distinction. What woodburning tools are you using?

Very nicely done. Looks like you have got a good handle on the pyro! The pieces are awfully nice as well.

Beautiful "experimental" work. I especially like . . . every one of them!

Be interesting to see what you produce when you get out of the experimental stage. :D

Hi Guys
Thanks for the kind words, quite something coming from the talent on this forum ;). My pyro equipment is nothing special just a hot wire type which over here in the UK is called a `Davan` variable temp unit made by a guy in Wales. The `Celtic knot` bowl was a 1/8th pattern sized up on the computer and transferred 8 times round the bowl using pencil and graphite paper. The others were drawn freehand with pencil then filled in with the pen using a `spoonbit` type wire tip. The last piece was pyro`d randomly with a wire tip that was filed to a sharp edge like a craft knife and it gave nice sharp and straight burn lines. ;)

I'm not sure if you noticed this or not but those pieces are all slightly burnt. As such you should send them to my house.

Great job on them I have never seen this and find it quite interesting. They are all very fine work and deserve to be put in a place to show them off.

Did I mention you should send them to my house? :D:D

Congrats on a job well done. Keep up the fabulous work.

Hi Guys
Afraid this will be my last post as it appears I have been accused of copying work from a members "giraffe series" and not giving credit for it. I have no idea whatsoever which work he refers to as all my designs were done by me (and my grandaughters scribbles). Any uncertainty could have been dealt with instantly and politely but to be directly accused of plagiarism is very upsetting and something I have never been guilty of. Sad but one of those things I`m afraid.
Hope all goes well with the forum
Regards
Steve

Steve, I did NOT accuse you of plageriarism. I merely said that two of your pieces looked almost exactly like original pieces that I had done and posted here and elsewhere. If yours were copies I suggested that it's customary to give credit. If as you say, they were'nt copies, then I'm sorry that I offended you.

Please don't stop posting your work here just because you're P.O'd at me. I and everyone else here think that it's great.

Wally
