I always like looking at other people work so I thought I would show a few things I am making for family members this week. Turned these yesterday, Curly yellow birch bowl (with finger prints  ), oil lamp and some small lidded containers for the girls ear rings.

Seasons Greetings to all.

Andy

Windows...well the good news is that 8 of them are finished, look and work great. Weather turned here a lot faster this year and there are two that I never did finish. I told LOML at least I would have a project for next year, that didn't go over well as she has a two page honey do list:) Christmas gifts from the shop will put a smile back on her face, at least it usually does.

Thanks for the comments, the little containers are a blast to make especially with a vacuum system. I put some pictures of the setup today on my website for those interested.

Andy the gifts look great---finger prints and all.
I did read the info you posted about the Vac CHuck system you have set up.
When I become better freinds with some cash I am going to have to give this a try.
I will just start buying some of the parts.
Thanks for the post and info.

Buying a little at a time sure helps. Keep an eye on ebay, I have seen these gast pumps for as little as 50 bucks, you want one that starts with model number 523 or 521. There is a guy on another forum in Texas that makes drums and supplies some of the parts which will save you a lot until you decide to move up, his name is Jonny Tolly.

Andy,
Bowls look great. Are any of these your Alcohol treated ones? Wondering how the Mythol Hydrate works. Trying to find some denatured alcohol to try in the new year. When I get the bowls that I have turned for Christmas gifts buffed out I will post pics.

This bowl was an air dry one, I rough turned a bunch of them back in June but didn't finish them due to time and I didn't have a vacuum chuck set up. We do have 6 in the shop however that were dried with alcohol and I will post pictures probably Thursday as the young fellow is finishing them as we speak. They are from a clicnts front yard tree that blew down. The wood isn't great but I guess it's the senemential value, white birch with a lot on insect holes.

Mr. Becker...<G>It is still sitting in the create, I was so tempted to set it up Sunday but I felt I would never get the last of my orders done and the family gifts finished if I had access to it....wife says Christmas is Saturday, I can have the whole afternoon to set it up :D

Well, you know...a picture of the crate would help to satisfy the ever-present picture police...at least until Saturday afternoon...:p
