The other day I wanted to make a handle for a tool I made. Lo and behold there just happened to be an oak dowel laying on my work bench that was the perfect size! I drilled it and turned some shape to it and made a nice little handle. Today, I'm cleaning up some and went to put my roll of paper towel back it it's holder, now what the heck happened to that dowel I had for holding my paper towel roll??

It's easier to find a dowel that it is to find a ready made tool handle!

Ya just gotta laugh Paul. Been there done that. As Tom said I attribute it to Old Timers.

I'll give you a laugh at me Paul.

I climbed out of the shower earlier this week......started to dry off.....looked in the mirror....my hair is so white and my vision without my glasses so degraded...I couldn't tell if I'd rinsed the shampoo out of my rapidly disappearing hair.

If you cut off the handle you made and give it a tenon, maybe you can still use it alternating between needs!

Now that was a good laugh. Next time I see a dowel the perfect size I'll check my paper towel holder before turning it!

Still laughing. Guess you will have to turn a fancy spindle to make the paper towel holder happy.

HA, I just cut a piece of 3/4" PVC pipe for the paper towel. That won't happen again!

Heck of a lot better than going to town (12 miles), picking one up and then finding the one sitting on your work bench that you had set aside just for that project! DUH! :eek: :o :D
