gluing corian

I'm trying to glue a piece of corion to a matching base that will be going outside. I've tried using cyanoacrylate and epoxy on 2 different pieces of scrap and left them overnight. I then did a drop test on a concrete floor and they both came apart. I didn't clamp them together. Is that what I did wrong or am I using the wrong glue.

Were the mating surfaces smooth or rough? Were they free of all oils? In what position were they mated?

According to the Dupont Corian Fabrication manual you need to clean both surfaces with alcohol before you join them.

The first choice for adhesive is Corian adhesive.
The second best option is Silicone adhesive, not silicone caulk.

You should clamp lightly, most use spring clamps to hold Corian during the curing process.

I agree with Keith, the Corian adhesive would be my choice. I've used it a number of times and it's one of the strongest bonds I've ever seen on anything. I've done small items, glued together and tried to pull them apart, they never budged at all.

The adhesive is cheap, about $8.00, but you have to have a $35 gun to use it. It mixes it in the tip.
