I need to know if this sounds like a good price or not. Someone has a Ridgid 12" compound sliding (Laser) miter saw with a stand that extends out 4ft on each side that he bought with the saw. The stand has rollers and folds up.He said it's in excellent condition and is asking 300.00 for it. I know the saw itself at HD is 569.00 plus the price of the stand.

If it's in good shape, it's a real good price. With any luck, the stand is the old style Ridgid stand. I've got a Bosch 12" slider on one, and it's great.

The guy told me he needs the money. That tells me he might take less. I've never owned a Sliding miter saw so is there anything I need to look for when I go look at it?

Looking at pictures would be helpful.

I've got the Ridgid SCMS with the older stand and am really happy with it. It was listing for $499 then and bought during the Ridgid 20% rebate and you got the stand for free = $400. Had it for over 4 years.

I'd mainly focus on the slider rails to make sure that they're not damaged or plugged up. If the sliders are good and the arbor ain't bent, then any other items can be tuned up/adjusted. I've tweaked and adjusted mine over the years and I'd buy it again....although I was tempted by the Milwaukee clearanced at $299 in January.

Give him $225 or $250 unless you are feeling charitable.

Well, here it is and it's nice. We tried it out and it has an 80 tooth blade on it. Looks to be well taken care of. I got him down to $250.00. What do you think?
