I just realized something. In eighth grade shop (taught by the high school principal0, I was a 13 year old Neanderthal. I built a spoon rack and gun cabinet without the use of power tools. Neither were master class, but I finished the work. Sanded with a piece of sandpaper on a block of wood. Sawed the curves at the top with a coping/fret saw.
Now after going through power tools, then bigger and more powerful power tools with more bells and whistles, I am now reverting to collecting and using hand planes, back saws, handsaws.
Does anyone think I will wake up from this in the fetal position?
