I think I've read about a way to determine if material contains vinyl but I cannot find the thread. Hopefully someone can advise.
I have small plastic-like boxes that need 1/4" diam holes cut. Boxes come from China - customer cannot get info about material. THANKS, Sandy

1 Heat a copper wire in a gas flame until any colour in the flame disappears (ignore yellow or orange in the flame that was there before the wire was stuck into it).
2 Let the wire cool a bit.
3 Press the still hot wire onto the material to be tested - some should melt and stick to the wire.
4 Put the wire back into the flame. If the flame turns GREEN, then there is chlorine present and the material is probably PVC and certainly bad for your laser.
