Finally got away for a while this week from the extreme kitchen makeover my wife has been begging me to do...and finish.

Two bowls for an upcoming church silent auction. The pecan bowl from a tree that the wind took down in a friend's yard a few months ago. Got about 30+ bowls roughed out from that load. This bowl is 8 3/4" in diameter and about 2 1/4" deep. Love the worm holes.

The cherry bowl came from a tree I cut down last December. It's 6 1/4" in diameter and 3 3/8" deep.

Both are finished with Watco natural and 3 coats of spray Deft lacquer, buffed with #0000 steel wool.

Comments are welcome.

Really nice looking bowls and should do really well at the auction. I do like both. Good to get some shop time.

Nice work on both but I really like the Pecan because of all the character the worm holes give it!

Best of luck at the auction!

Both are nice, but that pecan is especially cool!

Thanks for the comments. I love that pecan too. Out of all the bowls I roughed out, a good bit of it has those wormholes...can't wait to see what they turn into!
