I harvested this yellow birch burl from a deadfall about a month ago. Great figure in it. Also, the other yellow thing showed up this week. My landing net production was drastically down last winter with the appearance of a PSI turncrafter, but, I think net production may be nonexistent with the mustard monster in the shop. Just won't have much shop time till December.

WOW!! A double yellow gloat!! Some beautiful burl, and that Monster matches up really well.

The landing nets can wait!

That's a great gloat. I've never turned birch burl, so I'm more curious than jealous. The lathe looks just like the one in my shop, and I absolutely love it. In fact, I think I'll go spend some time on it now.

You've solved an age old problem! Get some turning stock for the arrival of a new lathe! Whenever I have had a lathe show up, it has sat around waiting for something better to turn than a chunk of a 4x4! :D

Phillip,
Nice purchase on the Mustard Monster. You will love turning on it and there is not much you can't do with it. Great looking burl too.....
