Woodtek 8" Joiner

Any thoughts about this joiner? On a scale of 1 to 10.... where would you say it lands?

How well does it stay aligned?

I have a chance to pick one up for a good price, but am wondering if I really want this or if I would be better off with one that has a helical head?

I don't know about the 8" but I have an older 6" thats always been dependable and accurate. I have had it for 10 years. They were made in Tiawan then, prabably China now.

Had one of their 15" planers and it was quite nice. I would put them on the same level as Grizzly, for what it is worth. Their prices are equal to or greater than Grizzly. I don't know if it is because they are a little better than G, or if they just don't sell as much and can't drop their prices as much.
