hook tool

I attempted (failed miserably) an end-grain shape in Aspen recently. The experience left me wanting a hook tool. I must have got lucky shaping this thing, it works amazingly well for hollowing end grain in soft wood. The hook is made from 1/4" dia. tool steel (O1) and is secured with a set screw. The shank is 5/8" dia. rod from a local hardware store.

Looks pretty successful to me. I purchased some steel from Enco and just have not had time to make some tools. Alan Lacer has a video on tool making that is very good.

Looks real good to me. Part of my problem is I spend more time making tools and jigs then actually making what ever. I have got to quit because tools and jigs take up a lot of wood storage room.
