I am finishing some elk antler pens for Christmas and using my great planning skills :o I have run out of accelerator. I'm going to see if they will overnight it but does anyone know of a substitue? Thanks for your help.

I've read somewhere that baking soda + water will act as an accelerator, 1 tsp baking soda to 1 cup of water...worth a try, anyhow!

Hi Martin, Call your Dentist tomorrow and see if he/she would spare some Methylmethacrylate monomer. Thats the vaporous liguid componenet of denture acrylic. It doesn't work as quickly as the official stuff, but it will help. No hobby shops open on
sunday? Good luck.

Acetone is a solvent of CA as well as an accelerator. Try spraying a tiny amount on a test joint.

Baking soda definately works. However it leaves the CA a white, flaky color.
