Whats your thoughts on 2.00 bf for kiln dried (rough sawn) straight sawn red oak,cherry,maple and walnut lumber 6-10' avg. 8-10 ' long. thanks, Sean

Well, it does depend on the grade BUT for most areas that is a steal in practically any grade.

I was hoping I would hear that. I haven't bought much lumber being mostly a turner in the past. I'm going to find out what my PU will really haul this week:) Thanks, Sean

I would buy a lot of walnut! I dont get good prices but I dont got to go too far. 8/4 R-Oak $3.50bf 8/4 soft maple $3.80bf 8/4 Cherry around$5bf and 8/4 Walnut is high here at around $6.50-$7bf. Im in S.W. Pa. If I drive 2hr out of pittsburgh prices would be lower.

Good deal around here on everything but the oak. About average for a decent grade of oak.

Prices vary greatly by region.

For that price I'm ready to gmap Henderson, KY and tun up my truck <g>. Seriously, compared to my area the onyy one of those that I can touch for that price is the oak...

I had to dig through a lot of wood but ended up with a 100bf of mixed wood. Not as much as I was planing on but i left with a smile.

That's a steal out here. I paid many times more than that for cherry locally. We don't have a lot of local hardwoods.
