Greetings All,
Like most newbies to the thread, I've been lurking around for about a year now. I've learned a lot from this group and figured it was about time to come out from under the pile of curly shavings.
Although I've turned many bowls and platters, I've photographed very few. Here is a bowl I turned as a retirement gift a few years ago.

Greg, I'm just up the road from you in Elk River. Have you ever picked up any wood from the Anoka county compost area in Coon Rapids?

After reading about some of the threads here about finding nice logs at various compost piles, I did consider it, but have never been there. That Coon Rapids is only a few miles from here. I will need to check it out.
