That's some beautiful wood!! Nice work! I don't know if I'd change it... looks like a shallow burly olive bowl to me. :)

Alex, you are working your way through that olive!! Another nice piece, with some beautiful figure.

Olive is beautiful in any form and you did a great form on this one. And it smells so goodddd. BTW if you happen to have a lot of chunks that are "going bad" let me know. I have recently finished an Olive vase about 13" tall or so. The thing left for me is polish with Rennaisance wax and take a few photos. I wish I had the photo skills of John Keeton. I have the equipment but lack the initiative or something. I have known George Wilson for at least half my life and he does not like taking photos either. But I will post the photos when I struggle with the inertial impetus.

Alex - sure is some pretty wood! Looks kinda thick but couldn't tell from the photo angles. Good to see that you can still find some time to turn!

Gorgeous piece of wood Alex. I read and see olive wood, I think ancient Greek artifact. Nice bowl, I love it.

Great looking. My brothers gave me a couple pieces of thin cherry burl. Maybe now I will know what to do with them.

Steve, it's still pretty thick but if you look at the 3rd photo you can see its not as thick as the other pictures make it look.

Good grief, man. That is some gorgeous wood. I love the simplicity of the form... That wood doesn't need anything else.
