The owner of the place I buy my hardwood gave me these boards that were used to Chock down a load of Bloodwood he received. Looked like good useable wood, so I took them home. I trimmed off the groves and squarded them up on the planner to 3 square inches; three board feet of African Mahogany. I can see a lot of Christmas Ornaments or even Pepper Mills coming out of this.

Great gloat Bill! Pepper mills would be a great project from those boards.

Unbelievable what some places consider 'scrap wood!' Kind of like finding exotics in some of the pallets. I guess it is whatever they have lying around.

Good score!

Nice find... I'm guessing you'll cut them up into little pieces for segmenting.:D

Probably not these they will end up being 3x3 inch turning blanks. I can think a lot of other uses for them. I do, however, have some African Mahogany wood left over from two benches I just finished. If you get Wood Magazine, the feature article this month was a bench made from Quarter Sawn Oak. Well, I made two of them out of African Mahogany. Waiting for the wife to pick out the material for covering the seats. These left overs will end up segments, I'm sure.
