This is a pen I turned this afternoon. It is a rattler in clear poured resin. Enjoy Russell.

very nice! I saw the blanks and wondered how they might come out. I should probably have one of those as we have the snakes galore... those of you that remember route 66 know in my neighborhood every gas station on the highway had a snake pit!

Nice pen! Did you cast the blank yourself?

I don't know whether Russell cast the blank himself. I do know that Arizona Sihlouette carries rattlesnake blanks for several popular pens. I ordered some recently for Sierra pens, but I've not had a chance to turn them yet.

Here's a link: http://www.arizonasilhouette.com/Snakeskin_Pen_Blanks.htm

I'm sure there are other sources. I just cannot think of any off the top of my head.

that is my favorite style of pen (to turn) and to write with.

I really like the snake rattler... I might have to get a blank or two.

thanks for posting

Nice work Russell! Great looking pen and I really like the texture the snakeskin gives to the piece!

Pretty cool pen! Thanks for sharing!

I didn't cast this blank. It came from Dawn at Exotic blanks, she is on the IAP forum. I think I will hold on to this one for myself. Thanks for all the comments.
