Haven't posted in a long time. I have been very busy over the short summer with work and holidaying with family. I did manage a little time in the shop this past couple of weeks and this is the result. Woods are cherry, maple, bloodwood, alowood, and holy. 10" x 8.5" high. Finnish is tung oil. Comments and critiques welcome

Mike,
I really do like this piece. Looks like you did an excellent job on the joints. I have a lot of respect for you guys doing segmented work. Staved vessels are as close as I've come, but someday I hope to give it a try. Love your choice of woods too.

Beautiful work. The diamonds are the main attraction but I like the detail around the opening.

Mike, very nice piece! Like William, I really like the detailing around the rim - it really adds a lot to this one. Great wood combo.

Mike,
What a great piece. I really like the spikes in the area just below the collar. The colors and segmented sections are well thought out and balanced. The form is very nice and it flows well. You should be very happy with this one. Very well done!

Great piece. If I was ever to try segmented turning, I would love to turn out something that looked like this. Beautiful design, wood combinations and a great shape!

Thank you all for your kind words. With the project I'm on at work winding down I hope to get back to plenty of time in the shop. Fall is upon us here and I have already turned the heat on out in the shop so will be ready for the white stuff and long cold nights.

Being a desert rat, I love that one. I see a lot of those type vessels at the art/craft shows around here.
Keep em coming!

Great looking form! I have great respect for you blokes that can take the time to segment. I can't do it. I lack the patience and dexterity. But I love to see them. When I go to the SWAT instant gallery, I sure love to look them over. Thanks for posting!

Beautiful piece. To my eye that is classed as the perfect amount of design. Some over do it with "to much" IMHO. I love this piece.
