Flame Redwood?

I've got two pieces of flame redwood that have been sitting in my shop for a couple years because I do not have a clue what kind of project it would be good for! The dimensions are, 1 5/8" x 7" x 32" and 2" x 5 x 30".
Is this kind of wood any good for turning on a lathe?
