I need to find a source for a hold down clamp like this or a c-clamp with a better type of handle. The press screw type handles are ideal - or a cam action lever. I can't for the life of me find one.

The application is to clamp a drum mixer to a sawhorse. I'd screw this clamp to the horse. The drum mixer motor has a plate that can drop inbetween the clamp jaw and the horse upright. But it needs to hold firm and me easy to open and close. Conventional C clamps are just not easy enough to open/close.

You said, "like this", and then said you can't find one. It seems like you already did. ;)

Jorgenson makes a similar clamp that slips onto a bolt that when not in use drops below the work surface. I have a few of the bolts installed in all my benches.

If you don't like this, search the Jorgenson and other clamp manufacturers sites. I'll bet you'll find what you are looking for.

The one I show in Google is perfect except the handle is bad. I want a pressscrew type handle.

I've scoured a lot of sites. No can find.

I'm wondering if I can retrofix a pipeclamp somehow. I would bolt a flange onto the opposite side to receive threaded pipe - but the flange would stick out too far and would interfere with the motor shaft.

I've seen these. A drill press clamp might not have the strength I need to hold a whirring mixer motor.

I'd be happy if I can just find a C-clamp with a press-screw type knob.

a press-screw type knob ...

I'm not sure what that means. Is it a quick release feature you're looking for?

As for a drill press clamp, they are designed to hold thing in place while a drill press motor is trying to spin them.

This is the type of handle I prefer.

de-sta-co clamps work well and you can set them really tight. Fast to open and lock. Better than cranking in a repetitive application, me thinks.
Not cheap.
