Has anyone checked out the sail boat Norm built. He called it a clancy. Has anyone made this boat from his plans. I was thinking of making it for me and my two daughters to sail on a lake next summer.
Please let me know.

I don't remember a sailboat from Nahm. Was it on his show? In a book of his?

The Clancy - kits, parts, sails, etc. - was the original brainchild of Flounder Bay Boat Lumber in the PNW. I just now clicked on the link I had bookmarked for them and they no longer have a web presence - I even G'd them without success.
The book is still available:

I intend to build one myself one of these days - my wife would absolutely love one - so I bought this book several years ago. Has complete plans, parts lists, etc.

While you are thinking about this check out the kits and plans at wooden boat. My neighbor has the shellback dinghy (which he modified from the plans a bit), and it is a beautiful boat. Very classic lines, and apparently a pretty good sailing boat. He mainly uses it as a dinghy for his sailboat. He can cram five or more people in it. Still, its light enough that he tows it with his bicycle.

Norm actually did a show building the boat and then Steve and Norm went on a sail with them. He ahs the plans online wanted to know if they were any good.

That Boat may be too small. Check Glen-L or woodenboat.com. For the wife and kids something like a Glen-L 14 may be the ticket. No more work and more boat.

Check this out. Saw it a few days ago.
Has a few shots of the boat.
Looks like a one man boat.
