Well, some of you asked for pics when the glass arrived, that was today. Here it is set up with chairs from our kitchen table just to get a feel for how it will look. Still have to find some suitable chairs because I will not be building them myself. The base is hard maple and we have decided to use it unfinished for awhile to determine if it will be stained or just get a clear finish. At least we will finally be able to put the family around it this Christmas.

I can see the Pix, Chris.

Great looking, sturdy table. It actually doesn't look too bad with the chairs you have already. Granted, they don't match - but they don't look bad.

Good craftsmanship!

Chris, it really came together nicely. The edge you picked out for the glass works well with the overal design as well. Good job.

Chris, a fine project! Now if you can just keep the wife from covering the table with a tablecloth and hiding all that pretty wood work! We are almost neighbors so I hope I get to see how it works :p

Very nice Chris.

Did you use biscuits or tenons on the 45 degree angles?

Neil

The 45deg miters are joined with double-biscuits and the posts are joined with mortise and tenons. Thanks for looking. Have a great night.

I like it! I suspect the choice of chairs will make up your mind on the finish.
