Some recent activities. 2 cedar bowls, one almost finished and the other one still needs sanding and finished. A spalted maple pen and "box" whatever you all call these things..lol the box has not been finsihed yet of course. not sure what I want to do with it. id like to spray it with lacquer but i also have thought about blo or danish oil. any thoughts, give'em

The cedar bowls look good. I especially like the spalted box that is going to come alive when you finish it.

Karl, those are some interesting forms with the cedar - right nice!! I think I would have to go with some type of oil on the spalted to bring out the colors - just my thoughts. Nice pen, too.

Pretty cedar and the maple will be pretty as well with some finish.

I love the look of finished cedar. Very nice.

Spalted stuff is another favorite, so you're two for two. I generally use oil +/- beeswax on boxes, but I'd stick with just oil for this one since it's already off the lathe. The color will really pop with the oil.
