For the first survey I've included a screen version as well as a print version since I had to make the document so large. The other document contains the results of the second survey.

Nice job! Enlightening information.

Looks to me like the same old bugaboo is getting in the way of success. Not enough effort on marketing.

We have a rule about not pointing a post to your own website but since yours only points to the survey I see no harm. Another moderator may think differently and remove the links.

It's nice to get an overall insight.

Like Mike said not enough marketing.


One thing that would be nice is if those respondents
gave an employee count or avg man hours a week.

Some day as a whole we may learn a bit more about marketing and self promotion. It coulnd't hurt. Especially if no one in your competeing area
is marketing, what better way to seperate name recognition if you are the
only one putting it out there!

What I thought was interesting was income vs. hours worked per day.......Mickey D's is looking better every day........

I found the survey results to be quite interesting, esp in the area of marketing. I have tried marketing, literally sent out over 300 emails but haven't seen much as far as results (one large job and one potential job that fell through). I agree with one of the respondents that word of mouth/referrals are the best. And yes, I'm beginning to feel that flipping burgers, while not the most fun job, would at least be somewhat consistent...well maybe that's a bit extreme...

Here's hoping for a silver lining and a brighter future.

I agree Tim. Unfortunately, I didn't think about that until after people had taken the first survey which is why I created the second one.
