Guys,
You probably know that Lowe's and Home Depot are both going to be running some specials starting the 15th and the 16th.
I thought I would let you know that starting about the same time, Amazon will be running a special sale too on all portable power tools and accessories (this is going to be up to 20% off) plus the special 25$ off coupons will apply ON TOP OF THAT.......
It should be live on the site by now. I do not know how long they plan on running it, so anybody who wants in had better get there fast! :D

Hitachi M12V for $127.99 shipped. Wow!

I've been eyeing planers and saw somewhere that the Delta 580 is $225 shipped after the sale, rebate, and $25 coupon. I was planning on getting the RIDGID on sale, but this looks like it will cost me less. As kind of a side question, has anyone used both - I assume there is no clear winner between the two.

Looks like you can get a Delta mortiser, DW or PC Joiner, Cordless drills, some router bits, some saw blades, as well as some other things pretty cheap. If anyone sees anything about how long this will last, please be sure to post it.

I ran into this deal about three weeks ago. I bought a PC belt sander and a Makita right angle drill. No pic until Christmas!

FWIW, I also bought a Tormek - no deals there!

Chris,

I just looked at Amazon, & saw no mention of 20% off. Where do you find the $25 off coupons?

Thanks

Scott Behrens

It's not 20% off everything, it's seems somewhat random. You'll just have to look up the items you are interested in and see if they are on sale. I didn't look long but didn't see any mention of the sale. A random person just looking at tools that doesn't know Amazon's regular prices might not even notice that some things are cheaper. The coupon codes are listed above in the thread and are mentioned on Amazon, but you'll have to click a few links to get them. For those just looking for deals on whatever tool there is a deal, it's probably best to look at Amazon't top sellers list or read through this thread on another forum. They have listed several items that are at good prices.

Sorry, I don't think I'm supposed to post a link, but you can probably find it...

Like the others have said lots of deals, but it's a bit hit and miss. Many are not even marked with the sales icon, just a reduction of the regular price. It also looks like Tormeks are reduced to $320 and most Tormek accessories are also discounted as well.

Sorry, Guys. I was just passed this info along by a reliable source and don't have any details but it looks like with a little work, you can ferret out the deals.

I was going to get the Ridgid...but someone tell me why I shouldn't order this one instead. shipping will make it $383....about $40 more than the ridgid...is this a better jointer?

John - You Da Man!!!!! :D :D :D :D
I read your comment about the Tomek and I looked up my order and it hadn't been shipped yet so I contacted Customer Service and asked if I would get the "sale" price once it shipped. They looked up the order and just emailed me telling I just saved another $90! Thanks Man..... and Merry Christmas

Byron,

No Problem, although the price jumped back up late this afternoon. Glad you could have a bit.

Tony,

I don't know if one is better then the other, but the 6" jointer is one of Grizzlys better products, I believe. I don't think you can really go wrong. The Grizz might have a little better resale if you decide to upgrade to an 8" sometime.

The price decreases are random and not highlighted. I needed a dust port for my new planer and was going to buy from a private seller. Deal fell through so I went To Amazon and the price had dropped overnite 20% unannouced and not highlighted. It was a small $ item originally $25 ($35 elsewhere) and dropped today to 19.95. I added another item to get the free shipping. Worth checking on the bigger $ tools etc. Thanks Chris P.

Having read Chris's post, I went and checked the status of my Bosch Router Combination Pack order that I placed with Amazon last Saturday. (It's shippedand en route)

The price had dropped from $193 to $175.99. I emailed Amazon and expressed dismay.

Here's the reply I got:
---------
Thank you for writing to Amazon.com.

The discounts we offer for items on our web site do vary from time to
time. I've checked your order, and found that we recently offered a
greater discount on "Bosch 1617EVSPK 2-1/4-Horsepower Router
Combination Pack" than at the time you placed your order.

>Since this item was shipped so recently, I have requested a refund of
$17.01 to your credit card. This amount reflects the difference
between the price you were charged and the discounted price.

-----------

Now that's customer service. And thanks Chris P.
