When do the holiday sales normally start?

I'm really hoping there's a good sale on the grizzly G0513X2 (http://www.grizzly.com/products/17-Bandsaw-2HP-w-Cast-Iron-Trunnion/G0513X2) or a rikon band saw. I just need an excuse!

In general, the day after they put away the Halloween stuff, which goes out as soon as school starts.

About this time last year, Grizzly came out with a sale that lasted until the end of the year with some really good specials. It's what I bought my G0691 TS saw from. Saved me about 285.00 from the regular price. Watch the November issue of the woodworking magazines. Seems like Wood was the one I heard about last year. And they have an ad in the October issue with the Polar Bear line introduction and some pricing. The G0513P is $698.00 plus $89.00 shipping. Not sure what the regular pricing is on the 513's. Jim.

The 513X2 is already on sale($100 off) till the end of September. I'm guessing it is not going to get much better before the end of the year. Seems like the Rikon goes on sale a couple of time a year at Woodcraft. I have the 513X2 and it is a great saw.

I saw that too when I went to see what the differences were. Looks like the X2 has cast iron trunnions and wheels. Nice saw at the sale price! Shame it doesn't have a foot brake. Jim.

I did see that sale. But i was thinking/hoping the sales would get better during the holiday. Last year i was able to get the grizzly G0691 for about $250 off, and two years before that i has able to pick up a 8" jointer for $300 off.

As Dave mentioned, Jet is running a series of sales for the next few weeks. The last week of September and the first week of October will have Jet bandsaws on sale...
