Here's another natural edge bowl that I finally got around to getting a photo of. Spalted red oak. This one's a little over 15" in diameter, and about 9-10" tall at the wings. Turned to 1/4" thick, sanded to 600, then antique oil finish.

very nice, i like the way the sapwood will spalt and the heartwood does not, cool

Nice looking bowl. Oak is not my favorite stuff to spin due to the heatishness associated with turning it, but the end result is really nice.

Wow, that's a big beautiful bowl. I love the grain and shape. Nice photos, too
