Hi Guys, trying to mark these polished steel "made in china" cake knives for a client, but cermark does not mark them, This is the cermark for stainless, I know they make one for polished metal! Think that will give me better results?

Andrew have a look at previous posts by using the 'Search' facility in blue and white above. There is sometimes a coating that is on the stainless steel but it can be removed .

I jusd did a set of these for my son. Turned out great. See picture below.
Used Cermark LMM-6000 at 24 speed and 100 power and 600 DPI. Opps its a 30 watt Laser. Turned out pretty good for a "made in china" Set.

Nice stanley, That's what I am using LM6000 but Im doing it on the handle see the shiny handle on the top pic? Thats the trouble part for me. I do tons on tags with cermark, but this handle I think has a coating of some sort. Hey I see you use PG3! Any luck with it, I just got my PG3 But need some tips on how to use the interactive section to get me great results! Not average lol.

Thanks Andrew

Andrew - you should use LM6038 for polished steel.

Never tried the handle end. You may be able to stick it down to the table with some modeling clay. Engrave to burn through the coating. Drop the table down and coat it with Cermerk bring the table up and refocus and try engraving it again.. I have only used the Photograv program a half dozen times. I put the design together in Corel Draw turned it into a Jpeg and burned it... Works for me...

Yes Andrew I got your PM.

Would diamond drag marking on these knifes be of consideration for your client?

No,the logo is too complex and needs to be lasered black, so I think silk screening them is another option, there are only 120pcs all the same logo.
