I took a break from turning today and found a big box sitting at my front door! Brought it down to the shop and opened it up to find this beautiful chunk of Mesquite:

160820 160821 160823 160824

Should make for a very interesting southwestern style hollow form! Love all the worm holes and character!

A big – HUGE - Thanks goes out to John Keeton! I sure hope I can turn something that does this beautiful wood justice!

Thanks John!

Very nice. Good on Keeton for sending the goodies. I, too, am looking forward to seeing what's inside that piece.

Steve,
I hijacked your last mesquite pottery form and have it as my desktop at work. Small pic but very inspiring for this desert rat. Someday I hope to be able to turn a comprable piece. You da man for that form. Seeing your post about Colorado the other day, it all makes sense to me. I knew that wasnt just a casual fling.
Looking forward to see what "turns" out here....
Mr K, you are a class act. Nice gesture!
