Anyone know of a good source for Bi-metal & carbide bandsaw blades?

Iturra design was always my choice. He does not have a website, but if you call him, he knows more about bandsaws than anyone else I ever talked to.

I am a big fan on Lenox blades and have had excellent service and product as well as better prices than almost everyone at Spectrum Supply. Diemaster 2 for Bimetal and Trimaster for carbide BUT until I find someone to sharpen the Trimaster I see no reason to buy it over the Laguna Resaw King which I think is actually a little better blade. Some people like the Woodmaster CT (also Lenox) and it is cheaper than the others, but the Laguna options is the least expensive in the long run since they sharpen it for $45.

Harold,

Best online pricing I've found is here: http://www.kci2.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/home.html

I've bought a Trimaster and several Diemaster2's from them, and was completely happy. I have no connection to this company other than being a satisfied customer. I will note that in the past they've had some problems with the price calculation when you buy online, so I just call them.

Regards
Bob

If their current "sale" price is their regular price they are indeed the cheapest I have seen for Lenox bands. However, I noticed they do not list any variable tooth bands in the Trimaster area, if they don't have the variable pitch stock it would be a non-starter for me.

I stopped by the Lenox booth at IWF and they did not know of anyone that resharpened the Trimaster, but he gave me a guy to contact because "if anyone can he can". I need to give him a call but keep forgetting, like I said for the the Trimaster is an excellent blade but unless you can resharpen it the economics don't make any since compared to the also excellent RK from Laguna. Bernie (Lenox Rep) was also VERY big on a new spec for the Woodmaster CT, it is a 1" 2TPI blade they designed for some flooring manufacturing needs but says it is a great blade for resawing on a vertical BS as well, very new so your favorite supplier may not have ths stock yet.

You're right , Van. Guess they are like many, their stock has dwindled during the recession, and they've not replenished it. If I was looking for a vp Trimaster though, I'd give them a call first.

My Trimaster is on it's third sharpening, and probably the last. There is enough carbide to resharpen if you don't go hog wild. It helps that I reduce the hook to 6.5 degrees, but that's a matter of preference on my part.

Van

I sharpen my blades myself using a ho-made fixture on a ho-made tool & cutter grinder.

Mine is not a vp Trimaster. To do vp, I would need a different wheel. I started sharpening bs blades, not for economy, but to improve performance. The Trimaster is the exception, that I do for the economy!

Harold,

The best pricing for Lennox bandsaw blades is from:http://www.bandsawbladesdirect.com/?gclid=COyEkdHT1aMCFQMBbAodB2F4ug

I spoke with Tom Witt and he gave me a very good price and the service was excellent.

Best of luck to you.
