New Rikon 16" bandsaw

Gees, if we didn't have it tough enough in endlessly questioning which bandsaw to buy, it seems there is a new player in the field of affordable bandsaws. I had an email earlier today about this new Rikon 16" bandsaw. 12" resaw, big table and a 1 3/4 hp motor than can run either 110 or 220. Alas, I cannot find that email (Fine Woodworking maybe?), but the initial review was good. Since their 14" is $800 and their 18" is $1300, what will this sell for? $1050?

I saw it at IWF, there is a video and some discussion in a thread about new tools at IWF.

My general take from looking and playing with it (not under power) is that it is about exactly the same quality as the 14 and 18" versions. I can't remember the exact price but you are about right with your guess. If you have a Woodcraft close I would wait for it to go on sale, the 14 and 18 go on sale 2-3 times a year and I expect the same for the 16".

I'm sure this will be a nice bandsaw. I've had their 2nd gen 18" for about 4 years now, its been really nice and I think the quality is really good. One thing for sure is Rikon customer service is excellant.
