Before I have a very costly mistake I thought I'd ask as I'm sure that someone has tried before.

I've been asked to engrave four bottles of spirist for a local football club.

Is it all right to use the laser. I'm concerned with any heat generated on the glass when it is full of liquid. I doubt any heat would travel through the glasss itself to effet the liquor.

Any advice would be really appreaciated. I can't afford to replace mistakes or have a bottle of liquor explode in the machine.

I'm not even allowed to lick up the mistakes anymore... I had to give up the grog many years ago.

That should be OK. I engraved full wine bottles with no problem - the only thing I have been warned about from a champagne manufacturer, is engraving on full champagne bottles and that's for the pressure that's in the bottle

You won't have any problems with it Roy. It doesn't generate enough heat to warm the cockles of your heart!

Use engraving thru wet paper - but this is mostly for better quality. I have engraved a lot of bottles with whisky, brandy and etc - no problem.

I'll give it a try in the next day or so
