Hi All,

My bandsaw has been laying dismantled since June 2008. I'm putting it back together again, but am not electrically inclined. I'm good at pushing the on/off switches, though! Can someone please help me with the connections? I'm posting pics, because I am not good with electrical terms such as hot wire, neutral etc. If you can tell me, based on the pics, which colors to connect to either the white or black of the power cord, that will really help. Does the green ring ended wire get screwed onto the plate with the circle mark. It seems like that was the place it used to be. I presume the green would be the ground? Thanks for the help. Darren

Darren, On the motor will be some verbage telling you what number wires to hook up where. You don't say if you are trying to run 110 or 220. Without knowing what voltage you plan on running and what the motor plate says there isn't much help that can be provided unless someone has the same set up and can look at their plate.

Thanks for the heads up. Below is a pic of the wiring cofig in the manual. It is to 110/115.

Thanks,

Darren

Looks like you already have lines 1/3 and 2/4 wired together, so hook up each pair to your black/white wire from the wall (doesn't matter which) and hook the green (ground) up to the case (just a screw).

Thanks Dan. That's what I was not sure about. So it does not matter which you hook up to black or white. Just did not want to burn anything down!

If any appliance ever specifies one side is connected to the case, the white wire (neutral) should connect to that leg...
