this is a piece of redwood that I picked up on the side of the road in California last year...Ive been in Irac, Kuwait, and Bahrain for almost a year, so havent had much time to turn..so be forgiving on this one
redwood, curly maple and African blackwood 8" X 10"

I'd say a year in the desert sands didn't do any harm to your turning skills. I like it!

David, nice wood combo, and excellent work on this one. That redwood burl is nice stuff - I have ended up with some, but yet to turn it. Hope it looks this good!

Sir, your skills did not go anywhere. This is a fine piece all the way around. To my eye, I'm not sure about 3 woods, but I dont know anything!:cool:

No reason to apologize here. Iraq, Kuwait and Bahrain are not fun places any time. It looks like you have picked up right where you left off before leaving. This piece is very nice. I like the wood,form and finish. The changing grain and difference in color all over this wood gives it a striking appearance. Well Done.
