Here is a clock I just finished for a christmas present. It is qs white oak. The finish is a light coat of a dark trans-tint and two coats of amber shellac. I still need to add the glass in the top.

This is my first time working with white oak.

Great job on this clock. It looks good in oak and you did a wonderful job on the grain arrangement with the QS material. NYW design?

John, very nice. I agree with Jim. It looks like a NYW design. I say this because I built one myself. Good job.

Not bad John. The quarter sawn oak really makes the clock come alive. Keep it up and you just may get good at this stuff (ha ha!).

I have made several of those clocks and know that they may look simple, but simple only looks good when it is done well. This one looks great.

Thanks for all the nice replies. The clock is of Normesque design. This is the second one I have made. The first was from found mahogany from a busted dresser. I have recently started turning, so I turned the knobs for this clock also.

John, I really like the looks of that! Nice job. I'm gonna have to try some qswo one of these days.

Great job. Like your choice of finish. Give us an idea of the size. What kind of movement? Again very nice.
