My wife is wanting a small pocket knife. Due to tendonitis in her hands she has a hard time opening them. Does anyone have a favorite assisted opening one that is made in USA?

Good luck finding an USA made knife. Last year I stopped in at Smokey Mt knifeworks in Tenn. I wanted to buy several knives while I was there. While shopping and speaking to sales people I was amazed to learn very few brands are made here. Even Buck is made in China. The rep said they are still made to Buck's strict stats with Buck steel but not made here. They did have some USA made knives but the prices were crazy. China made known American brand $ 10.00 - 20.00 similar USA made knives $35.00 to 50.00.

A guy from work really like his Kershaws.

Finding a small assisted opening knife could be tough. They have thumb studs that you can add to almost every knife. That is probably a simpler solution.

My wife has a small, spring assisted Benchmade. Made in the Usa. Not cheap but seems good. I prefer the slightly larger Kershaws.

Benchmade has some USA made and a cheaper line that is made overseas.

Kershaw makes most of their knives in the US with some made overseas.

I really like the Ken Onion series of assisted opening knives from Kershaw - Leek, Chive, etc.

Check your local laws before carrying it around. Around these parts, its a felony to carry certain types of small knives (vs a misdemeanor for carrying a gun... go figure...).
