Please ID chisel set

I was given vintage chisel set and I know nothing about. They look like cheap craftsman or something, but steel body stamped with "JAPAN". That made me wandering if they are decent and I should rehub them. Handles have writing "Companion", "Drop Forged" and "Vinyl ..."
Any comments?

Companion was an inexpensive line carried by (created by?) Sears. Sometimes you see tools from the postwar occupied territories, marked "Made in Occupied Japan" or sometimes Dunlap "Made in British Occupied Germany." The handles definitely aren't en vogue, but the steel might be okay. If they sharpen up nice they look like they'd make a useful handy toolbox set. Can you imagine being the Sears requisition guy telling Japanese craftsmen, "No no no. THIS is how you make a chisel . . . ."

That is a very rare set of chisels made by relatives of the Emperor of Japan quite a few years ago. He would be willing to pay $500,000.00 for that set to be returned to his family-NOT!!!
