Hi,

I will probably be ordering a Laguna LT18-3000 soon and will be getting a RK blade along with it.

The saw can handle a 1 1/4 blade. Should I go 1" or 1 1/4?

What would be the difference in performance between the two for resaw?

Thanks

Andre

The simple rule is use the widest blade for resaw the particular saw can properly tension and the guides can accept. In this case it WOULD be a 1.25" blade, however on Asian made saws (with a very few exceptions) I usually recommend going one size down particularly on a carbide blade so you have a better chance of getting the 25,000 PSI needed for the blade without causing too much deflection in the saw. Other than my rule of thumb, you should contact Laguna since it is their blade and their saw, unlike many places most of the people there actually know how to make sawdust and they should have a solid recommendation. The difference between the two blades will be minamal BUT the price is the same and so if they recommend it the 1.25" then the extra quality of cut will be "free".
