I don't usually post pens, but one of my sons wanted a pen to take with him to college and asked me to turn one for him. I told him that I would show him how to turn his own. A couple of practice pens and then the roller ball baron that he wanted to do. A pain to do with the different odd sized drill bits, but it was worth it. I think that he is a little more proud of his pen since he did it himself!

All of the pens are made from Berea titanium kits and acrylic. Thanks for looking!

Robert - always great to hear of a father and son spending time together on the lathe! Great looking pens - your son should be proud!

Hope he has a great time at college!

Robert, I hope you let him know how good a job he did on those pens. I'm sure he'll impress lots of folks ( read ladies ) at school. Just don't let him take it on the boat as I'd hate to see it go overboard.:D

Took me a lot of tries in the dark to get a pen looking anywhere near that nice!
Excellent job.

You and your son make a great team Robert..
Can't beat that kind of shop time. Nice work, both of you.

Very cool Robert. He'll lose it before Christmas but he'll always know you taught him how. And he'll always remember.

Maybe Santa will put a min-lathe in his stocking his year.

Enjoy the moment, Tom

Robert,

Not only will your son remember the "how to make a pen" lesson with dad but you will also remember the "teaching son to make a pen" with dad day!

Congrats!

Nice shapes and well finished. There's nothing like the memories you two made with those pens. Priceless!
